At Life with Lou the Pitbull, we understand how difficult it can be to navigate a diagnosis and sometimes feel different. Kim and Lou want others to understand they are not alone.
OUR MISSION

Lou's Story
During the first year of COVID lockdowns, Kim went to a local pet rescue (Luvable Dog Rescue) to possibly bring home a new member to her family. She took one look at Lou, and it was love at first sight. Lou had been saved by START Animal Rescue in Southern California. This organization rescues animals from kill shelters. Lou had been found wandering the streets of Los Angeles and showed signs of neglect and abuse. The first two years of his life were traumatic in many ways, but they did not break his loving spirit. Lou now travels with Kim to help with her clients when needed.
About Kim
Kim is currently a Behavior Consultant in Eugene, Oregon. Kim graduated from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Education and then from Pacific University with a Master of Arts in Teaching of Special Education. Kim has been in the special education field for 20+ years. While working as a special education teacher, her students, ranging in age from 9 to 14, were identified with academic and behavioral challenges. As a teacher, she worked on academic and individual goals. Kim noticed that many of the behaviors in her students could have been decreased had others recognized the root cause. Kim now works with families and foster providers in their homes.
